2. Key Products — Rokid Glasses

According to Rokid's official announcement, pre-orders for Rokid Glasses opened across all channels at 10:00 on September 1, 2025, with in-stock sales starting from September 15. The product is priced at CNY 3,299, with a charging case sold separately for CNY 399; its overseas price is USD $599.

A) Core Functions of Rokid Glasses

Rokid Glasses integrate display, voice interaction, and camera shooting functions into a device weighing less than 50 grams, creating a fully functional AI smart glasses form that is rarely seen in the industry. It supports voice control, real-time translation, and navigation, and can utilize the camera for identification and recording purposes. The new version further enhances the conversational experience by supporting two-way real-time translation, which can be displayed synchronously on both the glasses and the phone screen, breaking down cross-language communication barriers. Additionally, the product is equipped with 4 microphones, supporting near-field, far-field, and omnidirectional modes to ensure accurate voice pickup and positioning. In terms of imaging, the quality of photos and videos captured by Rokid Glasses ranks among the top tier in the industry, making it competitive with similar products such as Ray-Ban Meta.

B) Specifications of Rokid Glasses

The most significant advantage of Rokid Glasses lies in the optimization and advancement of its optical waveguide technology, enabling both superior display performance and lightweight design. In terms of hardware specifications, Rokid Glasses weigh approximately 49g and are equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 chip, complemented by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. They utilize a MicroLED +diffractive waveguide solution, with a binocular single-green light engine, two ultra-linear directional high-fidelity speakers, a directional microphone array, a 12-megapixel camera, and a nine-axis IMU, a 30° FOV (Field of View), and an in-eye brightness of 1000 nits. Equipped with a built-in 210 mAh battery and supporting magnetic charging, it achieves 6 hours of continuous music playback, 4 hours of voice calls, 2 hours of always-on mode, and 30 minutes of intensive photography.

Regarding AR display, Rokid Glasses project an AR interface via the display area within the lenses. Virtual images are superimposed onto real-world scenes without obstructing the user's normal field of view. Rokid Glasses' lenses can display information, such as notifications from DingTalk and WeChat, and weather updates. Rokid Glasses can also function as a navigation display, enabling convenient use during sports or cycling activities by providing real-time road condition announcements.

3. Existing Shortcomings

Structural Deficiency in Content Ecosystem

Currently, most AR applications are simple ports of 2D mobile applications, lacking original content that integrates virtual and real elements. For example, Rokid only supports small casual games, leading to a sharp drop in usage once users lose their sense of novelty. Despite accumulating 6,200 registered developers through development competitions, the supply of high-quality content remains insufficient, creating a vicious cycle of “fewer users → weaker developer motivation → content scarcity → even fewer users.”

Competitive Pressure from Industry Giants

As the AR sector gains momentum, companies such as Meta, Huawei, and Xiaomi are entering the market. Leveraging their stronger brand influence, ecosystem resources (such as Huawei's HarmonyOS ecosystem and Meta's VR content library), and greater financial resources, these competitors exert comprehensive pressure on Rokid.

Potential Risks of Scenario Substitution

The primary applications of AR glasses are concentrated in gaming (35%), film and television (32%), and tourism shopping (33%), but these scenarios lack essential irreplaceability. The gaming experience is less immersive than VR devices, and film and television functions can be substituted by tablets, potentially rendering AR glass an underutilized 'idle product'. Even spatial computing, a key area of Rokid's strategic focus, is currently constrained by insufficient computing power and the complexities of data integration, resulting in slow progress in practical implementation.

4. Financing Status

Since its founding, Rokid has consistently attracted capital investment due to its technological prospects and market potential. As of August 2025, the company had completed 13 rounds of financing, raising over CNY 3.5 billion yuan in total. Investors include diverse entities such as industrial capital, well-known venture capital firms, and securities companies. In terms of fund utilization, the capital is mainly allocated to three key areas: technology R&D (with a cumulative investment over CNY 2 billion yuan), supply chain construction (such as mass production cooperation with Lens Technology), and market expansion (particularly the layout of overseas channels). Sustained capital injections enable Rokid to bridge the gap from technology research and development to mass production and delivery during a period when the industry has not yet entered a profitable cycle.

Regarding its listing plans, public information suggests Rokid has long been expected to pursue capitalization, although a concrete timeline remains undefined.

Conclusion

Rokid has established an integrated capability covering "hardware + operating system (YodaOS-Master) + multimodal AI + to B/C ecology". Its core product line, evolving from Glass/Glass2 to Air/Max/AR Lite and further to the new-generation AI + AR glasses (Rokid Glasses), reflects a development path of "being more lightweight, more suitable for daily wear, and applicable to more scenarios". While its technological expertise has solidified its position in the industry, Rokid still needs to address challenges such as the deficiency in its content and competitive pressure from industry giants. With solid conditions for capitalization and a strong foundation for industrial collaboration, the company has the potential to enter the capital market in the medium term.
